Description
What would you do if you had the perfect life and it was all ripped away? You had a family that needed you and cherished you. You were young and ambitious, and one day you got what you signed up for. You hold the condemning letter in your hands.
So you’re being shipped away, forced to sever the threads that bound you to your family, your friends, to everything you once defined as your life. You’re leaving it all to descend into a world of unfamiliar darkness and death...Could you ever come back?
***
I made this shortly after my friend's father went away to the war in Iraq. I have strong feelings about the senselessness of war and of drafting. I wanted to show the pyschological effects back home.
Acrylic, broken glass, photo frame, fabric, string.

Wonderful piecem having just gotten medically discharged I know the feeling of watching friends get hsipped to the sandbox, I can't even begin to imagine the feelings that the families go through.
Stories my friends would tell me of things that happened to their battle buddies down there just, wow.
But this is done really well I think you definitely succeeded in capturing the essence of the emotions forced upon the families
